In a three-match T20 International series at the National Stadium in Karachi, the Pakistan women’s team made history by completely dominating South Africa.

In the third T20I, the Green Shirts defeated the Proteas by six runs to finish off the visitors on Monday.

The visitors were having a difficult time scoring 151 runs, but skipper Laura Wolvaardt played a courageous inning, scoring 72 runs on 54 balls and hitting nine boundaries.

She was almost successful in reaching the goal as she carried her side by herself. The 24-year-old attempted to hit a six-eighth shot, but the ball failed to cross the line and was caught by the replacement.

The visitors only needed 18 off 10 balls, so it appeared as though they might finally win their first game, but after the experienced batter lost her wicket, none of the other batters were able to push their team past the finish line, and the game ended in a loss.

Sadia Iqbal and Nashra Sundhu both took two wickets for Pakistan, contributing significantly to their triumph.

Pakistan, meanwhile, scored 150/5 in the first innings within the allotted number of overs.

The captain, Nida Dar, played a destructive innings, scoring 36 runs off 20 balls, including six boundaries. Each of Sidra Ameen and Bismah Maroof scored 39 runs.

By a margin of five wickets in the first T20I and seven in the second, Pakistan prevailed.
